Discovery Bible Study

Discovery Bible Study is a simple method for helping anyone anywhere to have a Bible study. After selecting a passage of Scripture to use as your focus for the day, follow the steps below individually, or with a group of people. God will always bless us when we make space for His Word to dwell in our hearts. It might be helpful for your class or life group to have an initial talk to select a schedule of passages on which you plan to reflect. From there, simply engage with the process below with the people you're with and see what God shows you!

Steps for Engaging the Word Together

Getting Started

Before you begin, select a passage that will be your focus for this study.
  1. Gratitude. Name something for which you are grateful.
  2. Grace. Name something with which you would like God's help.
  3. Growth. How have you grown in God lately?

Hearing the Word


  1. Read the passage aloud. Twice. 
  2. Re-tell the passage as you remember it. 

Going Deeper


  1. "God is..." What do we learn about God in this passage?
  2. "We are..." What do we learn about people in this passage?
  3. "I will..." How should this passage impact my life?
  4. "You can..." Who would benefit from having me share this passage with him/her?
